Super Bowl predictions: Denver Broncos vs. Seattle Seahawks - The Star-Ledger

How NJ.com and Star-Ledger NFL reporters see Sunday's Super Bowl at MetLife Stadium.

AFC Champion Denver Broncos vs. NFC Champion Seattle Seahawks

Sunday, 6:25 p.m. FOX

Line: Broncos, -2.5

Jordan Raanan, NJ.com: Peyton pulls even with Eli, and the Broncos take home the trophy when they hold on in a thriller at MetLife Stadium. I really don't have a good feel for the game, but I'm just rooting for Mike Adams to walk home in the aftermath. Broncos 24, Seahawks 22

Darryl Slater, The Star-Ledger: Peyton Manning has been great all year, but he hasn't faced a secondary as good as Seattle's. The Seahawks will get at least one touchdown courtesy of a turnover forced by their defense. Richard Sherman talked big all week, and he will make a big play in this game to back it up. Seahawks 24, Broncos 21

Dave Hutchinson, The Star-Ledger:
With the weather a non-factor, Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning will be on his game in a defining moment that'll seal his legacy as one of the best ever. The Denver defense has spent two weeks gearing up to stop Seahawks' running back Marshawn Lynch and the unit will be up for the challenge. Broncos 24, Seahawks 17

Michael J. Fensom, The Star-Ledger: You don't need to be Nate Silver to figure out this game is likely to go down to the wire. This has been the year of offense in the NFL, and fittingly the league's best unit (Broncos) and individual player (Peyton Manning) will be on the field at MetLife Stadium. But on the other side of the ball, the league's best defense will be there balancing the scale. The Seahawks have given the impression of a relaxed crew, even though just one of their players (Ricardo Lockette) has been to the big game before. Both teams already have one victory in the Meadowlands this season. Seattle will make it two. Seahawks 27, Broncos 24

Eliot Shorr-Parks, NJ.com: This is about as closely matched Super Bowl that the NFL has had in some time. Both teams are equipped to stop what the other team does best, as the Seattle secondary vs. the Broncos passing offense is the kind of matchup made in football heaven. In a game between two teams so evenly matched, I'll take Peyton Manning. This is a game for his legacy, and the way he played in the AFC Championship, it's hard to pick against him right now.

Broncos 30, Seahawks 20

Bill Sullivan, The Star-Ledger: I wouldn't be surprised to see Seattle leading this game early, but nobody adjusts at the half like Denver and Peyton. I see Eric Decker sneaking up on the secondary for a big game. Broncos 24, Seahawks 17
