Amanda Knox guilty verdict: latest - Telegraph.co.uk

Police officers from Udine were also involved in apprehending Sollecito, 29, according to reports by Ansa, the Italian news agency.

The judge in the retrial last night ordered that Sollecito's passport and identity card should be confiscated immediately following the verdict.

09.02 Nick Squires reports from Florence:

While Amanda Knox plans her next move at home in Seattle, no one quite knows where Raffaele Sollecito is. There are various conflicting reports this morning, saying that he is in a hotel somewhere outside Florence, or that he is in Rome, or that he has driven all the way back to his home town of Bari, in the southern region of Puglia. He certainly won't be leaving Italy for a while - the judge in the retrial ordered last night that his passport and other travel documents be confiscated.

Meanwhile Lyle and Stephanie Kercher, the brother and sister of Meredith, are due to give a press conference in Florence at 10.15am local time, 9.15am UK time. They said last night the reinstated guilty verdicts were not a reason to "celebrate" and that they know the whole process is going to drag on for at least another year because defence lawyers plan to appeal to the Supreme Court in Rome.

09.01 In an interview with Guardian before the verdicts, Knox said she was a "marked person":

QuoteI am a marked person, and no one who is unmarked is going to understand that.

I don't even know what my place is any more, what is my role in society. Who am I after this, after everyone has branded me, who am I?

09.00 (10.00 CET Italy, 01.00 PST Seattle) Good morning and welcome to our live coverage of the reaction to the Amanda Knox guilty verdict.
