Notre Dame women's flight diverted by storms in Oklahoma - Washington Post

March 26 at 11:21 AM

OKLAHOMA CITY — The Notre Dame women’s basketball team arrived in Oklahoma City several hours late because of storms and tornadoes in the area that left one person dead.

Notre Dame associate media relations director Chris Masters says the team plane was diverted to Lawton, Oklahoma, about 100 miles southwest of Oklahoma City. Masters says the team made it to their hotel about 11:15 p.m. Central time Wednesday, about three hours later than expected.

Masters says the team encountered rain and thunderstorms in Lawton, but nothing too severe.

He says the team was relaxing before Thursday’s practice to prepare for their game against Stanford in the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 on Friday night.
