Jury rejects Ellen Pao's claims against the venture Capitalist firm - The Silver Ink

ellen-pao Ellen Pao lost her discrimination case against venture capitalist firm Kleiner, Caufield, Perkins & Byers.

The jury said that her gender was not the reason behind not promoting her to general or senior partner and also not the reason for terminating her employment.

But on the last claim about the company retaliated against her for complaining about discrimination and filling a law suit, the jury voted 8-4 which means that the verdict is not final.

At least 9 jurors must vote against the claim for it to stick.

Poa sued the firm for $16 billion for lost wages in 2012 and for denying her promotion on the basis of gender.

The suit went to trial last month.

Pao and her lawyers are trying to make the workplace look like men’s club, and pointing to incidents like the conversion of playboy mansion and porn stars on the business trip.

She said “I wanted to make sure my story was told.”

Kleiner’s lawyers made Pao look as difficult to work with and to get along and not qualifying for the post as the main reason for denying her promotion.

Kelliners lawyer said, pao “wanted a huge payout for Team Ellen.”

The Jury found Kleiner’s version of events more compelling than Pao’s.
