Police have closed all flooded roads and areas. Another high tide is expected a little after 6 p.m.

According to National Grid, as of 9:30 a.m., only four of the 12,804 customers on the island have not been affected by power outages. Despite also losing power, Nantucket Cottage Hospital is running off generator electricity and remains open, even delivering a “blizzard baby” at 3:53 a.m. Tuesday.

WGBH reported that 11 people needed to be evacuated so far due to flooding and that cell phone coverage is down on the island.

Winds as high as 78 miles per hour were reportedly recorded on the island. Regular gusts of more than 60 miles per hour have occurred during the past 11 hours, according CBS Boston meteorologist Eric Fisher.
