Dr Myles Munroe is survived by his two children, his son Myles “Chairo” Jr Munroe and his daughter, Charisa Munroe.
Born and raised in New Providence in 1954, he received a degree in fine arts, education and theology from Oral Robert University in 1978, a Master’s degree in administration from the University of Tulsa in 1980 and has been awarded numerous honorary doctoral degrees.
He has also served as an adjunct professor of the Graduate School of Theology at Oral Roberts University.
According to his biography on Bahamas Faith Ministries (BFM), he served as a business consultant to governments, Fortune 500 companies and corporations where he addressed critical issues “affecting every aspect of human development”.
In 1998, he became the Bahamas’ youngest ever recipient of the Queen’s Birthday Honours of the Order of The British Empire (OBE) Award which he received from Queen Elizabeth of England.
He was the author or co-author of more than 100 books, study guides and audio tapes and has contributed to various Bible editions, journals, magazines and newsletters.
Dr Munroe frequently appeared at Christian events before mass audiences where he emphasised the Kingdom of God and his belief that the whole Bible revolved around that kingdom. He appeared alongside some of the most prominent preachers in the evangelical community, including Bishop TD Jakes, Bishop Eddie Long and Pastor Benny Hinn.
