A Washington man said he was shocked to discover he was babysitting a kidnapped child while looking through Facebook Wednesday.
John Truong said he did not think twice when his sister, Alyssa Chang, asked him to take her boyfriend's son while the couple went on an overnight date Tuesday, KOMO News reported.
Truong said he realized there was more to the story while scrolling through Facebook over breakfast the next day.
"All of a sudden I see this Amber Alert for this child," Truong told KOMO. "And it looks like this child in my bed, and I'm like, 'Oh my God! What's going on?'"
Truong called police as the boy, Ronnie Tran, sat happily watching TV and playing with Truong's dog, he said.
Authorities had been searching for Ronnie after Chang, 46, and the boy's paternal grandmother, Vien Nguyen, 65, kidnapped him and his mother from their Des Moines home, police said.
Chang and Nyugen attacked the mom with a Taser before tying her up, authorities said.
They then drove the mother and her child to a garage 20 miles away in Fife and tied the mom up again, police said.

Chang and Nyugen took Ronnie into the adjoining house, leaving the mother alone in the garage, authorities said.
She was able to escape without serious injury and ran to a neighbor for help. The mother identified her alleged captors but they remained on the loose until Truong contacted police.
Authorities said they were still investigating what happened.
"There's a lot of family dynamics involved," Sgt. Mike Graddon told ABC News. "As far as why, we can only speculate."
Chang and Nyugen were charged with kidnapping, felony assault and unlawful imprisonment.
Ronnie’s father, Kang Tran, has not been charged.
"I feel like she was just helping her boyfriend out and just got into this horrible situation," Truong told KOMO of his sister. "Honestly I'm at a loss for words right now. It's just crazy."
