He had been buried for 82 hours after being struck by falling debris and trapped by his foot.
On Wednesday he was being treated for leg injuries at a hospital in the capital.
Khanal said his ordeal began just after he finished lunch on Saturday, as he was on the building's second floor and was about to go to the nearby bus station when everything suddenly started to move.
