A millionaire hedge fund founderâs dead body was recovered from his apartment in East Manhattan. The police found the body shot of the man shot brutally in the head in his own home.
New Yorkâs ABC Station WABC-TV was reported by the police about the condition in which the body of Thomas Gilbert Sr. was found. Gilbert had founded Wainscott Capital Partners, where he also acted as the managing member.
Gilbertâs son, Tommy Gilbert was held in custody for questioning after the recovery of his fatherâs dead body. According to NYPD Lt. Thomas Antonetti, Tommy, who is 30 years of age, was taken from his Manhattan apartment. The police suspected that the son could have an interest in the death of his father. He was however only held for questioning, but not held captive. Later, Thomas was found in charge of the murder.
Reportedly, Gilbert and his son had an argument regarding Thomas Gilbert Jr.âs monthly allowance. The incident was told by Gilbertâs wife, Boyce to the police. She told the police that after she returned home from a dinner with his son on a Sunday afternoon, she found her husbandâs dead body in the house. It was shot in the head with a gun, covered by the left hand, resting on his chest. But she claimed that it was a staged suicide and convicted her son of the act. Upon investigation, Thomas was also found to be in possession of a weapon that was linked to the death of his father.
Thomas Gilbert Sr.âs website said that he graduated from the Princeton and Harvard Business School. He has been engaged with the Wall Street for almost 40 years. He has been making direct investments in the stock market along with those in real estate, private equity, and the fixed income market. He had laid the foundation of Wainscott Capital Partners four years back, in 2011. The hedge fund works on biotech and health care industries.
