“Niqabi” woman brutally killed an American teacher A.B.R (47 years) at the ladies toilet of Boutique Mall on Al Reem island. The victim, who is mother of two children died at the spot, because of the multiple wounds she sustained during the knife attack.
The video shows the moment of the suspect entering the mall, wearing an abaya, a veil, and black gloves, and then using the elevator to get to the upper floor.
After about an hour and a half inside the bathroom, the suspect came running out panicked among a number of shoppers in the mall, boarded the elevator alone and ran away through the gate through which she had entered.
WAM ADDS: Dr Amal Al Qubaisi, Director General of the ADEC, has extended her condolences to the family of the slain American teacher.
She added that, “The crime comes as an unfortunate surprise given how secure the UAE is. Our UAE society is known for tolerance and harmony among all nationalities. We are a country that respects and encourages all cultures to live in peace and security.”
Al Qubaisi lauded the exceptional follow up by Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior. She thanked the Ministry of Interior for their efforts in arresting the female suspect.
“ADEC lost a loyal teacher who will always be remembered for her passion and dedication by her colleagues,” Al Qubaisi said.
“This horrendous incident will not affect the spirit of cooperation among all staff, UAE nationals and expatriates who embody teamwork, loyalty and proactive cooperation among local, regional and international expertise to develop and enhance the level of our students,” she said.
Al Qubaisi added that the ADEC will provide the necessary support and care for the family members of the victim until they overcome this critical period.
She asked Almighty Allah to protect the UAE and its people against terrorism.
