22 Killed in Attacks in Kenya - Voice of America

The Kenyan Red Cross says attackers have killed at least 22 people in two counties on the Kenyan coast, including an area where militants killed 65 people last month.

The al-Qaida-linked group al-Shabab has claimed responsibility for the latest attack, as they did last month's massacre.

Officials said Sunday a group of a dozen or so men carried out the overnight attacks in the Lamu and Tana River counties.

Among those killed in an attack at a police station were several inmates and a police officer.

Kenya has endured a steady stream of bomb and gun attacks since the government sent troops into Somalia to fight al-Shabab in 2011.
